• The Rangers lost to a strong LA Kings team before closing out their west coast swing with a win in San Jose. They made it two in a row with a win over the Flyers to close out the week.
• Live From The Blue Seats talked about whether the Rangers should go all-in this season. The answers may surprise you.
• If the Rangers go all-in, John Klingberg should not be a target. However there is a lot of smoke around the Rangers and Tomas Hertl.
• Changes are needed if the Rangers are to truly make a run this year, as their even strength play doesn’t bode well for playoff hockey. Aside from the trade deadline, perhaps it’s time to break up Ryan Strome and Artemiy Panarin.
• It’s been a bit of a rough stretch of play for the Rangers, as even the wins don’t feel like “good” wins. But is it really fair to judge them during this Covid stretch? They’ve been dressing Greg McKegg on the third line!
• There were a ton of taxi squad moves and call ups, but the big ones were calling up Braden Schneider, who recorded his first NHL goal in San Jose, and assigning Nils Lundkvist to the AHL. The only guys still left in Covid protocol, as of now, are Barclay Goodrow and Alexis Lafreniere, although the former is expected to return this week.
• Adam Fox and Chris Kreider made the 2022 All Star Game. Mika Zibanejad is up for Last Man In. But Igor Shesterkin was clearly snubbed.
