• The Rangers are still looking at Jack Eichel, but there are other options out there. Eichel will have surgery soon, with a projected return in December. That puts some clarity on the situation for sure, but likely doesn’t put an end date to the drama.
• Libor Hajek was re-signed to a one year, two way contract. That closes the book on all RFAs this offseason.
• The NHL will send players to the Olympics in 2022.There was some drama over “the first time since 2014,” but that was just one Olympics they missed.
• There are some updated COVID protocols for the players this year, with harsh punishments for unvaccinated players that put others at risk.
