The Rangers won their third straight against the Devils yesterday, but got a wakeup call in the process. They won 6-3, but the Devils took over the game in the third period. The Rangers were lucky they came out with the win, quite frankly. This was also the second straight game where the Rangers took the third period off.
They are getting overconfident against a team that can beat them. Remember, they need these points to keep pace with the Bruins and the Islanders. Both are catchable, but they need to win and they need some help. Winning today is another big step, as it would complete the needed sweep. But it is another afternoon game. We will see how that goes.
