After a better defensive effort led to a win the other night, the Rangers are looking to sweep this mini set with the Isles, again keeping them somewhat relevant in the playoff race. They aren’t mathematically out of it yet, and a win tonight brings them to two in a row heading into four straight against the Devils. We’ve seen crazier things happen. But a loss tonight means they can only manage two more regulation losses before being realistically out of it.

Igor Shesterkin gets the start tonight, and as of the writing of this post (4pm), there were no other lineup changes. This will be a game of neutral zone play, something we’ve been stressing for a while. The Rangers need to be better at preventing speed through the NZ, and gaining their own speed through the NZ. That’s really it.
