Game 2: The Alex Georgiev Showcase

The NY Rangers travel to Ottawa to take on the Senators

The Rangers are in Ottawa tonight to take on the Senators as they try to get their second win of the season. Alex Georgiev will get the start tonight in what is likely beginning his showcase to the rest of the league. It is no surprise to anyone that Igor Shesterkin is likely the future, but Georgiev is still very good and a solid trade asset.

The defense pairs were shaken up today as David Quinn looks to find some consistency and stability. The forward lines remain the same, but there’s a lot of eyes on Lias Andersson’s usage and Quinn “losing him on the bench.” Let’s see how Game 2 plays out.

  1. The Sens have one ugly lineup … there are maybe 4-5 real good players total on it … the rest are uninteresting to say the least.

  2. Even the Ottawa fans are throwing out the hats. Zib is putting on a show of hockey skill and talent.

  3. You play 2 games …..The best you can do is win them …..And that’s what the Rangers did . Keep it going ……LETS GO RANGERS !!!!!

  4. Report from Hartford:

Chytil(on wing), Kravtsov invisible for large stretches, Shestyorkin looked rather good beyond an odd man rush early in a 5-3 win tonight.

The PP1 choices were baffling from a development and tactical view, but it’s game 1.

    1. So to rub salt in the wound, not only does Chytil get sent down but does not even play center?

What sense does that make? Isn’t he there to eventually play center and develop his skills there?
