The Rangers are in Philly tonight to take on the Flyers. Luckily for New York, Philly is all sorts of bad right now. If it weren’t for the Flyers, the Rangers would be the worst team in the Metro Division, and the only team in the NHL not in Buffalo under five points for the season. This is a tremendous opportunity for the Rangers, but they will need to get a victory without three of their top six forwards (Rick Nash, Carl Hagelin, Ryan Callahan) and their All-World goaltender.

The Flyers play a 2-1-2 forecheck, and once they get a late lead, they switch to a more conservative 1-1-3 left wing lock. In their own zone, the Flyers play a low zone collapse, though the strong side winger will challenge the points, almost a box+1 if you will. On special teams, the Flyers play a 1-3-1 power play and a diamond force penalty kill.
