The New York Rangers have returned Scott Morrow to Hartford after a little less than a week with the Rangers. Recalled five days ago after Will Borgen was banged up, Morrow stuck with the Rangers through the weekend despite being the second defenseman called up that week. Connor Mackey was returned to Hartford after Borgen was cleared and ready to play against Toronto.
It was a bit odd for the Rangers to keep Morrow around instead of Mackey, given Morrow could use some ice time in Hartford to continue to grow and Morrow’s cap hit is $200k higher than Mackey’s. But it was still close to a week of nice paychecks for Morrow, who is likely going to find his way onto the Rangers roster sooner rather than later.
