The Rangers have recalled defenseman Scott Morrow from the Hartford Wolf Pack. Morrow’s recall will be to replace the now injured Will Borgen. Morrow is a right defenseman, so he should slide right into the lineup in Borgen’s spot alongside Matthew Robertson. The Rangers have had some struggles moving the puck out of their zone with control, and though Morrow is not without flaws, he should help address that need.

With Borgen hurt and Morrow recalled, the Rangers have placed Vincent Trocheck on LTIR to make cap space for the move. Trocheck will be on LTIR a minimum of 10 games or 24 days, dating back to 10/11. He will not be eligible to return to action until the Rangers play Seattle on November 1. Carson Soucy is still on regular IR for now.

Connor Mackey, recalled the other day when Soucy was injured, is still with the Rangers. It would make more sense for the Rangers to play Morrow and keep Mackey as a spare body as they embark on this road trip, but as Rangers fans we are a bit skeptical when it comes to playing kids over vets.
