Rangers recall Connor Mackey and Jake Leschyshyn

Per CapFriendly’s automated transaction page, the Rangers have recalled both defenseman Connor Mackey and forward Jake Leschyshyn. The Rangers will be without Jacob Trouba for one more game, and while these recalls are certainly not necessary, it’s a nice little bonus for both Mackey and Leschyshyn, who get NHL pay while they are with the Rangers.

It’s unlikely either play, mind you, as the lineup appears to be the same as last week’s pre-break finale. Zac Jones will draw in on the third pair, while Leschyshyn was never really in the running for a lineup spot unless there’s an injury.

It’s expected Leschyshyn will remain with the Rangers until a trade is made. Mackey will likely be returned before Wednesday’s game against Tampa.
