Where should Brennan Othmann play for the Rangers?

The 2023 NY Rangers rookie camp roster has been released, with the Rangers inviting 24 total players –14 forwards, 7 defensemen, 3 goalies– to camp. The list includes the usual suspects, including any decent prospect that is either in the AHL, CHL, or overseas. It does not include any player who has played in the NHL (Will Cuylle) or any player in the NCAA (Gabe Perreault).

Most eyes will be on Brett Berard, Matthew Robertson, Brennan Othmann, and Adam Sykora. While none are expected to break camp with the Rangers, they are the four highest rated prospects attending camp this year. Dylan Garand is another player to watch, as his development could lead to interesting conversations in a few years.

Other intriguing names are Bryce McConnell-Barker, who will go back to the OHL this season, and Ryder Korczak, who has nice WHL numbers but was cut from Hartford last season. Sahil Panwar was part of the Rangers prospect camp in July, earning himself an AHL contract a few days later.

The Rangers will not be at Traverse City this year, instead opting for a couple of prospect games against the Philadelphia Flyers organization.
