Last night, the Rangers played in easily their most exciting game of the season. The win was a direct result of the Trouba Train setting the tone, and the hits by Jacob Trouba are the talk of the town today.
So in the spirit of celebrating two very clean hits by Trouba, let’s watch them again, on repeat. First up, we have Trouba’s hit on Dillon Dube. This sparked a fight with Chris Tanev, who gave the Rangers a powerplay thanks to fighting after a clean hit.

Next we have the Trouba Train hit that is making the rounds, when he absolutely leveled Nazem Kadri. Yet another fight. Yet another penalty on Calgary.

And a bonus, Sammy Blais getting in on the Trouba Train action by leveling Milan Lucic. This sparked a near line brawl, off another clean hit.

Perhaps the NHL should look into the instigator penalty? Three clean hits, four fights stemming from it. Seems unnecessary, and only one of the powerplays for the Rangers was from an instigator penalty. Tanev got two for roughing, not instigating, which is why he didn’t get the 10 minute misconduct that Dube got later.
