Per Colin Stephenson, the Rangers have returned center Ryan Carpenter to the AHL.
This might signal that Chris Kreider is ready to return after missing a week with a shoulder injury. It might also just be cap games, with the Rangers not playing until Thursday in Boston. Hartford is relatively close to Boston, so it’s an easy trip in case a forward is needed.
If Kreider returns, it’s safe to assume that Alexis Lafreniere will return to the third line and second powerplay unit.
