The NY Rangers cannot solve the Devils neutral zone trap.

The Rangers hopefully hit rock bottom over the weekend, blowing a three goal lead to Edmonton at MSG. Even more concerning than blowing the three goal lead was they thought the first two periods were good. They were not. Igor Shesterkin saved them in the first two. The whole process is bad, starting with the lineup decisions all the way to the play on the ice.

If it wasn’t rock bottom on Saturday, perhaps it will be rock bottom tonight as the Devils come to town. The Devils, as Gerard Gallant put it himself, are what the Rangers should be. That said, the Devils are a little weak on the back end of their roster, which is where a healthy, normally functioning Ranger team would be able to take advantage. This Ranger team though? Who knows?
