The Rangers have signed Jaro Halak to be their backup goalie, per Arthur Staple.

Signing Halak gives the Rangers a capable backup to play 20 games, giving Igor Shesterkin a break. It also removes the risk that Halak will shut them out twice with a different team, because that’s basically what Halak does. Naturally, this means the Rangers are not in on Martin Jones anymore.
The contract is one year at $1.55 million.
