The Rangers were humbled in a big way last night, getting crushed by Carolina in every facet of the game. They need short memories though, as the lowly Coyotes are in town looking to continue their tank. Remember though, front offices tank, players don’t. Plus this could be a good look at potential future Ranger Jakob Chychrun.
The Rangers really need to be better at even strength. We can say what we want about roster makeup, and that is a problem, but the players need to be better. I’m specifically talking about the second line, which looks like they are going through the motions at even strength. It’s visible, even beyond the points.
Roster makeup will impact the bottom six, but the Rangers still have some of the top skaters in the game. Being this bad at even strength is on them. Play better.
