rangers prospects 2022 world juniors

The 2022 World Juniors begin on Sunday, and the Rangers will be sending four guaranteed prospects, potentially five, to the tournament. The Rangers sent four prospects last year, and two will be returning this year.

  • Brett Berard (returning) – USA
  • Dylan Garand (returning) – Canada
  • Will Cuylle – Canada
  • Kalle Vaisanen – Finland
  • Jaroslav Chmelar – Czech Republic

Chmelar is the only question mark, as Czechia was supposed to make cuts after last night’s now cancelled exhibition game.

Berard is going for back-to-back gold medals, winning the gold medal game last year over Garand and Canada. Garand was the third string goalie last year, and will likely get significantly more time this year.

Cuylle, Vaisanen, and Chmelar, if he makes it, will be participating in their first World Juniors.
