The Artemiy Panarin glove throw will cost the Rangers star winger $5,000, a fine levied by the NHL Department of Practical Jokes Player Safety yesterday.

Marchand, who after the game made an admittedly funny joke about them discussing their Thanksgiving meals, instead said something far worse and crossed a line. Arthur Staple noted what Marchand said to Panarin:
This, from @StapeAthletic. Would expect nothing less from Marchand, who is a garbage human. pic.twitter.com/EHWrou1Mra

Naturally, Marchand was not fined by the league, because, well, of course not. Nothing like casual xenophobia in the NHL, right?
In the end, the Panarin glove throw cost him .04% of his salary. Panarin joked that he makes $11.6 million, so he’s not overly concerned.
