NY Rangers Game 40 Open Thread: Queens Islanders? Long Island Islanders? Who knows?

The Rangers have been outplayed in nine straight periods, and it hit a low yesterday with their “effort” against the Penguins. Tonight, on the second of a back to back, they get the division leading Isles. The Isles just loaded up by adding both Travis Zajac and Kyle Palmieri to their third line. It only cost them what will be a late first round pick, which is a good deal for the Isles.

The Rangers need to just tighten up their entire game. They’ve been atrocious in the neutral zone, which has led to bad defensive zone play. And when you don’t have the puck and are pinned in your own end, you don’t get many offensive chances. Pressure pressure pressure.

It’s also the Isles, so it would be nice if they woke up against this team.

  • I hope it’s not a physical game. We are absent of tough grit…

Mayday Mayday… Where is Krieder lately?

    I hope he has a big game tonight… I’m feeling #20 tonight.

    • I don’t think we lack grit, we have plenty of guys who go to the corners and work. Problem is they just kinda, you know, haven’t in a while.

  • What a nice game by the boys! Georgiev, back from Siberia, played real well, as did the rest of the team defensively and just enough offense. That’s how you do it!

  • Good win coming off the loss to the Penguins. Have been critical of DQ lately – not going to praise him but he has been rolling all 4 lines more consistently. The kid line is chipping in and looking less over matched each game . Kratsov looks like a player. Would like to see Goat get back in maybe try him in the off wing.
