Rangers coach David Quinn is off COVID protocol and is set to return today, per Larry Brooks.
Quinn set to return for this afternoon’s game in DC
— Larry Brooks (@NYP_Brooksie) March 28, 2021
Quinn and the entire Rangers coaching staff were put in COVID protocol just before the 3/17 game against the Flyers. You know, that 9-0 demolition of the Flyers. Kris Knoblauch took over for six games, and the Rangers went 4-2 in that span. That included the wins against the Flyers by a 17-3 score.
I’m sure there are going to be snarky comments on David Quinn’s return, but it’s important to know that Knoblauch was working with Quinn on the lineup decisions. However the in-game decision making was Knoblauch’s. Take of that what you will.
