The Rangers controlled yesterday’s 2-1 loss against the Caps for most of the game, but a pair of late Alex Ovechkin goals sunk them. It was yet another game where the opposing goalie stole one from the Rangers.

This can’t continue, right? I think we’ve seen at least five games thus far where a goalie has stolen at least a point from the Rangers. Luckily the Rangers will have a short memory tonight, as there’s no time for it to linger.
The Rangers won’t have Igor Shesterkin tonight and the Caps will get Tom Wilson back. I’d expect a higher scoring game tonight, but look for Wilson to take a run at Lindgren, given the hit he laid on Ovechkin last night. Let’s see how that goes tonight.
Caps Lines
Alex Ovechkin-Nicklas Backstrom-Tom Wilson
Jakub Vrana-Evgeny Kuznetsov-TJ Oshie
Connor Sheary-Lars Eller-Richard Panik
Carl Hagelin-Nic Dowd-Garnet Hathaway
Brendan Dillon-John Carlson
Zdeno Chara-Nick Jensen
Dmitry Orlov-Justin Schultz
PP1: Vrana-Backstrom-Oshie-Ovechkin-Carlson
PP2: Eller-Kuznetsov-Wilson-Orlov-Schultz
Ilya Samsonov gets the start.
Rangers Lines (best guess)
Chris Kreider-Mika Zibanejad-Pavel Buchnevich
Artemi Panarin–Ryan Strome–Colin Blackwell
Alexis Lafreniere–Filip Chytil–Kaapo Kakko
Brendan Lemieux-Brett Howden–Kevin Rooney
Ryan Lindgren–Adam Fox
K’Andre Miller-Jacob Trouba
Libor Hajek–Brendan Smith
PP1: Strome-Zibanejad-Panarin-Kreider-Fox
PP2: Kakko-Buchnevich-Chytil-Lafreniere-Miller
Alex Georgiev gets the start.
Scratches/Injuries (not including taxi squad): Igor Shesterkin (groin), Phil Di Giuseppe (COVID protocol), Julien Gauthier (healthy)
Crazy Prediction: Ryan Lindgren gets his first of the season.
Game time is 7pm.
