This year is just brutal. Henrik Lundqvist announced on Twitter that he would be having open heart surgery.

Lundqvist had to informally retire last week after announcing he had a heart condition that would keep him from playing. It was something he’s had his entire career. It looks like things changed between him signing with Washington and his physical before showing up for camp. Clearly things worsened, and did so quickly.
We wish Lundqvist nothing but the best and for a speedy recovery.
