james dolan rangers 1st round pick

As more and more tension mounts across the country, one thing that has been painfully obvious is that the New York Rangers have been silent. They are the only NHL club to not release a statement on the George Floyd killing. It is embarrassing and many fans are disgusted.

Thanks to a loyal reader calling their season subscriber rep, we have some knowledge on what is going on internally at MSG. Before Dolan sent the now infamous email to MSG employees, many within the organization were wondering what was going to be done. Then the first email came, followed by the second.

After speaking with their rep, it was stated that while most employees believe something more should be done, “company’s official position is that they let their actions speak for themselves rather than put out a message which may ring hollow to some” and that the club “is continually working in the community and with groups that promote access to the game and other resources within communities of color and continue to do so and more.”

While most season subscribers are aware of the actions taken by the team in the community, the concern about how players like K’Andre Miller can feel comfortable in New York, playing for an organization that will not speak out publicly against racism.

It was not directly stated, but the impression is that MSG employees are being hung out to dry by Dolan, and forced to field hundreds of these phone calls from disappointed season subscribers. This particular person spoken to mentioned they had been on calls all day regarding this concern.

Actions do speak louder than words, but sometimes words are needed too.
