In what is being dubbed as the biggest game of the year, the Rangers are in Raleigh tonight to take on the Carolina Hurricanes. The Rangers are making a strong push for the playoffs, and with this and one more game against San Jose to go before the trade deadline, this game may dictate their plans for the deadline.
As it stands today, the Blueshirts are six points behind Carolina for a playoff spot with no games in hand. A win today is a four-point swing game, meaning the Rangers not only get two points, but prevent Carolina from getting two as well. This is the first meaningful game the Rangers have played in two years.
