NY Rangers Game 14 Open Thread: Those jerks from Raleigh

The NY Rangers fly to Raleigh to take on the Carolina Hurricanes

After last night’s strong win against a bad Detroit Red Wings team, the Rangers are in Raleigh to take on the playoff bound Carolina Hurricanes. The Canes have always been a well run team from a puck possession standpoint, and now have finally added that high end skill to complement that possession. The end result is a good team.

On paper this should be a mismatch. Then again the games against Tampa and Nashville should have been mismatches as well. As they say, that’s why you play the game. Although I can see this getting ugly quickly in the second of a back-to-back against a fast team like the Canes.

  1. We could really use Lias on the PK tonight. Georgi will have to stand on his head. May be close for a period or two, but the second game of back to backs against a good team are tough.

      1. Well to be perfectly honest the twice thing was a mistake, but the point was to illustrate how reactive people on this site are being in the infancy of a rebuild.

Every move does not dictate the future!

  2. Hank was unbelievable in the 1st. Panarin & Strome continue to do good things together. Marc Staal should never play another game for the Rangers. Lindgren and Andersson in the lineup too.

Thoroughly dominated by the Canes in the 1st, yet they’re up 1-0.

  3. Kakko draws a penalty, ADA shoots from the point, Lemieux gets his first this season. What were we talking about this afternoon , oh yeah ADA, and his value.

    1. What adjustments were those? Saying “all right boys, let’s gets outshot 47-18 and let Hank do all the work”?

      1. Did yo watch the game? how many shots Hank took after 1st period, and how many in the 2nd and 3rd period?
Do you see the team is playing hard for DQ all the time?

        1. I saw Hank win the game. Not our college coach with his “collapse and let the goalies handle it” defensive scheme.
