The Rangers have recalled prospect Brett Berard again, marking the sixth (!!) time this season he’s been recalled. It’s getting comical at this point, but perhaps Berard will actually get some decent ice time. Given how well Noah Laba and Tye Kartye look together and their respective skill sets, it’s possible Berard looks good on that line too. Kartye has been a pleasant surprise since being claimed off waivers, and Laba has looked steadier as of late.
It has to be frustrating for Berard to continue going up and down between the AHL and the NHL. Perhaps now that the trade deadline has passed, coach Mike Sullivan will be able to find more room for him in the lineup and give him more minutes.
Guess we will find out tonight, right?
