As the Rangers continue to sit near the bottom of the standings, the inevitable Artemi Panarin trade rumors are going to start coming. Arthur Staple (remember him?) is reporting that Panarin is “more willing” to waive his no-move clause and finish the season elsewhere. He still has control of his destiny with the no-move clause, but it seems he will accept a trade if it’s the right match.

Since Panarin is a pending free agent and a pure rental, a trade return is going to be somewhat muted. Emphasis on somewhat, as right now Panarin would be the premier trade target for any competing team. There is an obvious connection to Anaheim and Joel Quenneville, but will the Ducks want another trade with the Rangers in such a short amount of time.

As for a return, expect a 2026 1st round pick and a B-level prospect. Full salary retention might add a mid-round pick as well.
