The Rangers are back in action, thankfully away from home, as they travel to Detroit to take on the surprising Red Wings. Detroit has one of the best defense pairs in the league and a good enough top-nine to make things difficult for a Rangers team that simply does not put the puck in the net. It seems two goals is all the opposition needs to guarantee a win over the Rangers, and save for a few games it seems to be true.

There’s another line shakeup and low and behold, Taylor Raddysh is doing his best Blake Wheeler impression in the top-six. That’s not a slight on Raddysh, and more of a slight on the roster construction. Raddysh shouldn’t be in the top-six the way Jonny Brodzinski, whom I love as a Ranger, shouldn’t be in the top-nine. But such is Rangers hockey.

Jaroslav Chmelar makes his NHL debut tonight.
