The New York Rangers lines tonight in Vancouver are getting another shakeup, with Juuso Parssinen and Urho Vaakanainen drawing back in for Brennan Othmann and Matthew Robertson, respectively. Robertson has certainly struggled after his one strong game, but he’s been struggling mightily and has been on the ice for a bunch of goals against lately. Othmann didn’t look good in Calgary (no one did), so he sits after one game for Parssinen.
The Rangers are certainly struggling out of the gate, playing inconsistent hockey and struggling to score. Though their 5v5 process is mostly (note: not always, mostly) good and they are (again, mostly) controlling play, they can’t finish, their mistakes are winding up in the back of the net, and the goaltending came back down to Earth after a .985 SV% to start the season.
The Rangers need time to adjust, but I get the frustration with the team right now.
