It looks like Noah Laba made the team. The New York Rangers practice lines today included Laba as the third line center between Conor Sheary and Taylor Raddysh, seemingly confirming that Laba (and Sheary) have made the team. Laba was easily the best player in camp and won the Lars-Erik Sjoberg award for the top player in Rangers preseason, scoring six points in all six games and forcing coach Mike Sullivan to alter his initial plans.

Since rosters need to be set by 5pm, Brett Berard will likely be reassigned to Hartford, even if he is a better option than Juuso Parssinen, Taylor Raddysh, or Jonny Brodzinski. This is solely because the Rangers need to get to 23 skaters and waivers takes another day to finalize. Berard is the only guy left that can be sent down without waivers.

The only other option is placing Brodzinski on leave for personal reasons–he and his wife had their third child–to allow Berard to stay for a little longer.

Even if Berard is cut, he will be back.
