Live From the Blue Seats is back as Dave and producer JL talk the kids still in camp, and how Noah Laba may force changes to Mike Sullivan’s plans. Initially set on the third line being a shutdown line, much like his Cup winning teams in Pittsburgh, Laba is forcing the issue that he should make the team. If so, does he do it as the 3C? Laba shouldn’t be in a shutdown role, so will that line shift to a scoring line? Or will we see Vincent Trocheck shift to 3C as the shutdown center?
Gabe Perreault and Brett Berard are forcing the issue as well. Will they, too, force Sully’s hand in changing his initial plans? Sully is good at putting kids in positions to succeed, so we will need to see how this plays out not just this week, but throughout the entire season. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.
