The Rangers have trimmed their training camp roster by 13 players. The first round of cuts is always before the first preseason game, which for the Rangers is this afternoon against New Jersey. This first round of cuts mostly consists of players going back to Juniors and players that were destined for the AHL immediately. For the Rangers, this round included two non-roster invitees that were cut. They may get AHL contracts, but nothing is guaranteed.
Players sent to Hartford: Gavin Hain, Kyle Jackson, Zakary Karpa, Sullivan Mack, Chris Merisier-Ortiz, Cooper Moore, Hugo Ollas, Callum Tung
Players returning to Juniors: Raoul Boilard, Artem Gonchar, Evan Passmore
Players released from camp: Tim Lovell, Corbin Vaughan
None of this is Earth shattering. Expect more cuts before the second preseason game early this week.
