Per Colin Stephenson, the Rangers have made a minor league trade, sending forward Ryder Korczak to Tampa for forward Lucas Edmonds. Edmonds, Tampa’s 3rd round pick in 2022, appears to be more of a defensive forward at the AHL level, despite putting up 34-79-113 in his only season in the OHL. He was not an everyday player in Syracuse, and has a line of 1-4-5 in 26 games this season.

Korczak, the Rangers 3rd round pick in 2021, had a promising start to his post-draft career, but has since fizzled and has been an inconsistent producer with the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Both Edmonds and Korczak are in their final years of their ELCs and will be RFAs at the end of the season.
