The Rangers snuck one by us yesterday, assigning goalie Dylan Garand to the Hartford Wolf Pack. The announcement came along with news that all 4 players on waivers Tuesday cleared and were assigned to Hartford, something we expected. Garand, Louis Domingue, Brandon Scanlin, Casey Fitzgerald, and Anton Blidh were all assigned to Hartford.

In addition, forward Bo Groulx was placed on waivers yesterday. Groulx won’t get claimed, so he is expected to join Hartford today.

As for Garand, this is a big season for him. He had a stellar CHL career, but has yet to prove himself in the AHL. Goalies are voodoo, so development paths are difficult to predict. But at some point, you need to see improvement.
