The New York Rangers acquired the Nashville’s 4th round pick (#119) in exchange for their own 4th round pick (#127) and a 2026 7th round pick. The Blueshirts then selected center Raoul Boilard after trading up. The 6’1, 185 lb center put up 22-40-62 in 68 games in the QMJHL last season.
Boilard projects as a middle-six center with a heavier focus on defense, but has decent enough offensive skill that should translate to the NHL if he makes it. Like all players at this point in the draft, he’s a dart throw at a position the Rangers sorely need in their prospect pool. He’s cut in the same mold as Karl Henriksson, but with more offensive upside.
