Rangers recall Adam Edstrom and Louis Domingue

The Rangers have recalled forward Adam Edstrom and goalie Louis Domingue ahead of Game 1 with the Washington Capitals tomorrow. With the playoffs underway, the Rangers are no longer bound by the salary cap or roster size, thus the pair of recalls.

It’s unlikely Edstrom or Domingue get serious playing time, but crazier things have happened. The Rangers have faced third string goalies multiple times, including Domingue, in the last two years in the playoffs.

We still don’t know how the lineup is going to shake out. It’s expected that Edstrom will be either the 15F or 16F with Filip Chytil returning. Peter Laviolette has been quiet on that front.
