NY Rangers lines tonight: Roslovic a scratch
Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

It looks like the NY Rangers lines tonight will have some changes, as the Blueshirts are starting to rest some players. With a solid lead on both the Eastern Conference’s top seed and the President’s Trophy, they are afforded this opportunity. Erik Gustafsson appears to be the beneficiary of this lead, as Zac Jones draws into the lineup tonight against the Montreal Canadiens.

Jack Roslovic appears to be a different case, playing just 8:07 against the Detroit Red Wings the other night. There’s a solid chance he, too, is just getting some rest, but it’s hard to ignore the 8:07 TOI on Friday night. Per Vince Mercogliano, Jimmy Vesey will sub-in on the top line, with Matt Rempe getting 4RW minutes.

Peter Laviolette noted this is purely a rotation thing, and that the bottom six played so well in Detroit he wanted to get them in more. Take that as you will.

An interesting note: Jonny Brodzinski is getting 4C minutes, not Barclay Goodrow, who is shifted to wing. It took long enough, but that’s where Goodrow belongs to maximize his diminishing 5v5 production.
