The Rangers are back home for the remainder of the regular season, save for that one trip to a different borough. The Canadiens are obviously not a good team, but they are well coached and have enough talent to delay the Rangers quest for a President’s Trophy.

The Rangers’ magic number is 7, and can be 5 with a win today. Boston is off today, so the Rangers can’t make any additional progress. Dallas is playing against Colorado, but they have the same points pace as Boston, so it’s really just Boston at this point.

There were two minor lineup changes: Jack Roslovic and Erik Gustafsson are resting. Zac Jones and Matt Rempe draw in tonight.
