The Rangers have their last “true” test before the postseason tonight, in Colorado to take on the red hot Avs, who are 9-1 in their last 10 games and pushing the Dallas Stars for the Central Division lead. What the Avs have done without Gabe Landeskog and Valeri Nichushkin is impressive, and they are still a dangerous team.

The Avs, like the Rangers, have been solid post-deadline, and this could be a preview of what’s to come in late May/early June. Both teams still have something to play for tonight, which may be why Ryan Lindgren is returning for the Rangers far sooner than expected.

The big story to watch for the Rangers is how they respond after a bit of a sloppy effort against the Flyers on Tuesday night. With Lindgren and Alex Wennberg returning to the lineup, they should be able to shore things up defensively.
