Ryan Lindgren just can’t stay healthy. Lindgren exited today’s game against the Islanders in the 2nd period with a lower body injury and will not return. The game against the Islanders aside, the hope is that this is not a major injury and, with some rest that he needs, Lindgren will be back in no time.
Luckily the Rangers have (had?) 8 quality defensemen that are viable in a starting lineup. Lindgren joins Trouba on the injured list, meaning Chad Ruhwedel is the next man up.
Since it’s March and the playoffs are a month away, it’s best that the Rangers rest Lindgren instead of forcing him back for Tuesday’s contest.
