Matt Rempe will not get through the hit on Jonas Siegenthaler unscathed. He will have a hearing today with the NHL Department of Player Safety for the elbow that was also given a five minute major and another ejection for Rempe. The Rangers killed off the major again, but these are going to start hurting the Blueshirts soon.

The call is the right one, as Rempe led with his elbow, which is always a no-no, and his 6-foot-8 frame means he’s almost always catching someone in the head. He has to learn how to deliver hits with his frame and not cause injuries. It’s going to be a short career for Rempe if he doesn’t figure that part out.
