Nic Petan

The Rangers have acquired former 2nd round pick Nic Petan from Minnesota in exchange for Turner Elson. This move is to bolster the scoring depth in Hartford, which has been gutted recently with Jonny Brodzinski, Adam Edstrom, and Matt Rempe all in New York for the time being.

Petan, 28, has 12 goals and 40 points in the AHL this season and is notably not a realistic NHL option. This is purely an AHL move to bolster the Pack for their playoff push this season.
