The Rangers have finally traded for center Alex Wennberg, per Elliotte Friedman. Wennberg had been a healthy scratch for a few days for Seattle, and were noted as the favorite to land the center as of yesterday. Wennberg will jump right into the lineup as the 3C, moving Jonny Brodzinski or Barclay Goodrow, whichever was your 3C du jour, down to the fourth line.
The trade cost the Rangers a 2nd this year and a 4th in 2025, per Pierre LeBrun.
Seattle is retaining 50% of Wennberg’s salary.
