In the dynamic realm of hockey, the sport offers a plethora of highlights that linger in our memories. The New York Rangers, a team with a rich history, have contributed numerous moments that resonate with many fans. In this feature titled “Remember When,” we delve into some of these moments—some noteworthy, others less so.

In this particular installment of “Remember When,” we revisit the night of December 3rd of last year when Artemi Panarin notched a hat trick against the San Jose Sharks. This would be Panarin’s 5th career hat trick, his third with New York, and his second against the Sharks.

In a game that could be considered a barn burner, Artemi Panarin contributed three goals and one assist as the New York Rangers secured a 6-5 victory over the San Jose Sharks at Madison Square Garden. This marked Panarin’s fifth NHL hat trick, the first since his remarkable performance with four goals and an assist against the Carolina Hurricanes on February 11 in the previous season.

This was also his second hat trick against San Jose, as Panarin tallied a hat trick in San Jose in December 2019. Here’s how Panarin’s latest hat trick sounded on the home and away broadcast feeds.
