How quickly reunions come to an end. Artem Anisimov has been released from his PTO with the Hartford Wolf Pack, something that wasn’t overly surprising but is still a little sad for those of us loving the nostalgia. Anisimov was signed to a PTO on January 2 as the Wolf Pack were looking to address some injuries and call ups that decimated their forward depth.

In 18 games with the Pack, Anisimov put up a goal and three assists primarily in a bottom six role.

Anisimov was signed to fill the gap when Adam Edstrom and Riley Nash were hurt after the Pack had already lost Jonny Brodzinski to call up. The Pack were also losing Jake Leschyshyn somewhat regularly. They have recently also lost Edstrom again for a call up and now Matt Rempe. They did, however, gain Tyler Pitlick.

With Anisimov’s release, perhaps one of the injured Pack players are good to go. This likely means we won’t see Brennan Othmann or Brett Berard any time soon, but that may be a bit of a premature guess.
