In what looks like auditions for the 4C spot, the Rangers have recalled centers Adam Edstrom and Matt Rempe from the Hartford Wolf Pack. Edstrom, the Rangers 6th rounder in 2019, has earned his second call up this season, with his first stint resulting in a goal in his lone game. Rempe, another 6th rounder just one year later, has also looked good in a defensive role for the Pack.
It looks like both will get auditions for the 4C spot, hopefully shifting Barclay Goodrow back to 4RW. There has been some trade speculation, but with the Rangers adding one player to the roster, it cuts down on available LTIR space. It’s always possible, but I believe this is more of an audition to see if the Rangers have internal options available. Happy to be wrong, of course.
