anton blidh

The Rangers have recalled forward Anton Blidh, presumably as a spare body, per Peter Baugh. The Rangers have been rotating their 15/16F at this point, giving everyone a day of NHL pay, which is definitely a nice thing the Rangers are doing for their kids and veterans alike in Hartford. Blidh is the 8th player to receive such treatment.

Blidh has 4 goals and 9 points in 29 games with the Hartford Wolf Pack this season, but his true value to the team has been solidifying the depth of the Pack’s roster. It’s not expected Blidh will play, but with the back to backs, caution is a good move.

As for the cap, the Rangers appear to be preparing for life without Filip Chytil for the rest of the season. Thus there is no need to bank cap space, as his full $4.4 million cap hit can be used for LTIR overages.
