rangers capitals mika zibanejad

The shorthanded Rangers, fresh off a PDO loss to the St. Louis Blues, are hoping to right the ship and continue to tread water in Washington. The Rangers haven’t played poorly over their last couple of losses, with opposing goalies standing on their heads and their own goalies in a slump of their own. This is just how a season plays out. Teams hit a few ruts, and the Rangers are doing so while playing their 15F on a nightly basis.

Unfortunately for the Rangers, they will be without Mika Zibanejad today and Kaapo Kakko isn’t ready to return. That means Jonny Brodzinski is the Rangers’ 2C today, not exactly the best situation. There’s enough talent to survive and beat the Caps, who are getting healthy and should be better than their record. Still, it’s one of those games where, due to injuries, it could go either way.

Mika is back. Hooray.
