Lost in the Brennan Othmann news yesterday was the reason for his recall: The Tyler Pitlick injury. Pitlick has been a pleasant surprise on the fourth line, providing some pretty stable defensive play with Jimmy Vesey to help complement the more grinder style that is Barclay Goodrow. The trio formed a pretty effective shutdown line.

But yesterday, Larry Brooks reported that Pitlick is now out week to week with a lower body injury.

The Tyler Pitlick injury is a bit of a blow to an already decimated forward group. Pitlick was one of the Rangers unsung heroes called out yesterday, and immediately is out for a few weeks. His performance thus far has been infinitely better than both Barclay Goodrow and Nick Bonino.

Hopefully the Rangers get Kaapo Kakko back soon, to at least help the decimated RW depth and add a bit more defensive stability to the lineup.
