After hopefully righting the ship on Sunday against LA, the Rangers welcome the streaking Toronto Maple Leafs to MSG. The Leafs had a rough start to the season, mostly due to goaltending, but are 6-1-3 in their last 10 games and are solidifying their spot as a playoff team. This is a team that can almost score at will.

But as mentioned, goaltending is a problem for the Leafs. Ilya Samsonov is now in net, and the Islanders just lit him up last night. If the goaltending is hot, Toronto is tough to beat. If not, then it’s a track meet. Martin Jones is in net for Toronto tonight, so in theory we might be looking at a track meet.

Normally the Rangers would be able to trade goals with the Leafs, but missing Filip Chytil and Kaapo Kakko has taken its toll on the Rangers, with their structure and consistent defensive play declining as a result. This has the makings of a boat race.
