Rangers recall Riley Nash as Barclay Goodrow insurance

The hits keep on coming for the Rangers, who recalled Riley Nash yesterday. The Nash recall is insurance on Barclay Goodrow’s injury status. Goodrow took a puck to the face in Ottawa, and his status for tomorrow night’s showdown against the LA Kings is up in the air.

Nash will only play if Goodrow is unable to go. The one thing to note about Nash’s recall is he was chosen over Jake Leschyshyn, who was a favorite of Gerard Gallant. There is at least some clarity now to the order of recalls from Hartford based on position, and Leschyshyn is, at best, the 3rd center on the list behind Nash and Jonny Brodzinski.
